BVI VII: Final Days Of Riding Waves

The final days of our trip were fast approaching. We filled our mornings and nights basking in the sun, swimming in the pool, drinking fruity cocktails, and adventuring in the sea. Here are an assortment of photos that document our last hurrah in the BVI.

Our last outing with Simon was bittersweet and packed with the coolest dive spots. We started snorkels through some really interesting caves!

I'll be honest, I was scared AF while swimming in some of them. It was dark and the water was pitch black.

Like what is THIS?!?!? ^^^ That was what I was walking/floating on top of to get to the other side of the cave entrance.

Thankfully some lookedfriendlier than others.

This is James going through a underwater cave. It takes some good navigation and a large lung capacity, both of which I do not have. I designated myself as photographer.

We wanted to make the most of our final day in the Caribbean waters, so we pranced around making whoever diving near take photos us.

We were back on the boat and out pops George with this sea urchin in his hand. Classic George to think, "Wow a sea urchin!! Let me pick it up so we can eat it."

Everyone took a teensy little bite and it was surprisingly really good! A bit odd seeing that it was just taken straight out of the sea, but it tasted just like uni we would have at home.

Next thing we did was something I never thought I'd have the chance to do. Simon brought us to the location of a shipwreck from decades ago. It was a super eerie dive knowing that everyone on board did not survive the accident. We were essentially swimming above where many people have died.

It was definitely a new experience.

I felt stinging sensations on my face and arms during and after diving the wreck. Simon felt them too. He says it could've been small wood particles (sort of like splinters) or small sea creatures. The stings felt okay after a half hour or so.

We journeyed to Jost Van Dyke and Willy T's for some drinks and food throughout the day. These places are where we really saw how many people travelled to the BVI. It was like they all congregate only to these areas.

Our last day of water adventures came to an end. Saying bye to Simon made us all sad that our trip was coming to a close. I'm not sure where our group photos went, but I'll edit them into this post once I find out whose phone we used!

The last night was spent staying in and chilling at the hotel. We had to get up quite early the next morning to say bye to Matthew and James and then pack to head to the airport ourselves.

Hahahah here is Kushy with his morning mimosa and egg on his lip. Clearly so well rested and alert.

After a large amount of rushing and very inefficient airport staff, we actually made our flight to begin our journey home.

So, that covers my 10 day trip in the British Virgin Islands. It was both a hectic and immensely relaxing trip with some really fun people. I don't know when I'll be returning to the Caribbean, but I'll be thinking of their baby back ribs and clear waters all the way from Asia.

ROCK ON!!!!!
