Urth Cafe & LA Lookouts

Of all restaurants in LA, the one place that has most frequented my Instagram feed has been Urth Caffe. As all of you should know by now, I'm a sucker for brunch. There was no way I was going to leave LA without visiting one of the Urth Caffe's downtown.

It was bright and early when we got to the Urth Caffe on Melrose Avenue. It was the hottest day of the trip, and we were starting to tan just by walking.

We had to order our food at the counter before finding a table. I guess it was their way of making sure there were always seats available.

I think we went a bit overboard with the food...

Everything looked so delicious.

We ordered pita bread and hummus to share and a sandwich each.

Urth claims to serve coffees and fine teas under "strict quality and ethical standards." I tried their organic bubble tea and it was surprisingly really good.

Being somewhat reassured that the tea wasn't made of powdered artificial milk like back in Hong Kong, I drank away with no concerns.

We did our best to finish our food, leaving only pieces of sandwiches and bits of hummus.

It was time for dessert!

The berry tart made our mouths water all over again.

Hoooly moly did we have food comas after this meal. We finished our tart and could not get up from our seats even 10 minutes later.

Only when we saw people trying to find their own seats for their meal did we get off our butts to window shop.

After feeling successfully digested, we fetched an Uber and told the driver to drop us off at his favorite lookout point in Los Angeles. He was delighted to show us and took us up to Mulholland Drive.

And it was a beautiful lookout point indeed.

And that concludes Milan Sai and I's Spring Break 2k15!

We had a nice dinner later in the evening and met up with some friends from back home who are studying there. They helped us say bye to Los Angeles with quite an eventful night.

I'm planning to be back in the West Coast around the same time next year, but who knows. My plans have been so unpredictable this year that I could end up somewhere completely different.
